Job Summary:
The Head Mechanic is responsible for overseeing the maintenance and repair of heavy machinery such as excavators, bulldozers, and caterpillars at construction sites. This role involves managing a team of foremen, ensuring repairs are completed efficiently, and providing leadership on-site. Regular site visits are required to monitor repairs and ensure quality standards are met.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise and perform repairs/maintenance on construction machinery (excavators, bulldozers, etc.).
Lead a team of foremen and mechanics, ensuring timely and quality work.
Regularly visit construction sites to monitor ongoing repairs and maintenance activities.
Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues, ensuring minimal downtime.
Provide regular reports to management on maintenance activities and machinery status.
Maintain inventory of parts and tools, ensuring stock levels are sufficient.
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations on all repairs and site activities.
Qualifications:
Proven experience with heavy machinery repair and maintenance.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Knowledge of mechanical systems, diagnostics, and preventive maintenance.
Willingness to travel to various construction sites for regular monitoring.
