Job Description
We are actively expanding into the semiconductor industry in Malaysia, looking for a highly motivated and experienced Regional Business Development Manager to lead our efforts in this pivotal sector. To excel in this role, you must have a strong understanding of our technology and how it delivers value to clients. As a key person in our technical sales team, you will drive business growth in Malaysia by developing strategic plans and identifying new opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Explore and uncover new business prospects within both existing and potential client bases.
- Assess competitors by analysing and summarizing competitor information and trends to identify sales opportunities.
- Develop a deep understanding of client needs, challenges, and pain points to tailor solutions that effectively address their specific requirements.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients through regular communication and networking.
- Actively engage in meetings and site visits with clients and key stakeholders to advance sales initiatives, foster valuable relationships, and maintain a strong presence in the industry.
- Provide pre-sales and after-sales technical support and work collaboratively with internal Product and Solutions teams to develop and deliver value-added solutions that meet client needs and address their challenges.
- Oversee the negotiation and finalization of commercial deals, ensuring compliance with all necessary approvals and documentation.
- Lead and manage the team to achieve sales targets and business objectives. Provide leadership and guidance, including but not limited to setting performance targets and mentoring team members.
Requirements
- Min. 5 years of managerial experience in B2B sales, technical sales, IT solutions, or negotiation-based roles such as procurement or purchasing. Preferably experienced in the semiconductor, smart manufacturing, or related industries.
- Proven track record of achieving sales targets or a demonstrated history of driving business growth in the semiconductor market.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build strong relationships with internal teams and external parties.
- Spoken English proficiency, with the confidence to present and engage with stakeholders at all levels. Chinese communication skills are required to interact with Chinese speakers.
- A proactive attitude toward learning and adapting to new technologies.
- Willingness and ability to travel both locally and internationally as needed.
- At least a Diploma/Higher/Graduate Diploma in Business Administration, Marketing, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
Preferred Candidate
- Have an established customer base and a strong professional network within the manufacturing industry in Penang, Melaka, or across Malaysia.
- Semiconductor, smart manufacturing or IT and advanced manufacturing background.
- Self-motivated, results-oriented, and disciplined, with the ability to work independently and thrive with minimal supervision.
- Long-term mindset with potential to grow with the team.
